Describe what you do at Grace.
My time serving Jesus at Grace Bible Church is diverse and rich! I absolutely love providing leadership in the Solid Ground, an exciting bunch of college and young adults. We hang out regularly throughout the week, encouraging each other towards a greater knowledge and love of Jesus. Second, I get to provide leadership in Grace Kids, our children’s ministry at Grace. The ability to teach the gospel to children and equip others to do the same is something that I love to do. Finally, I have the opportunity to help out with administration, conferences music, and assimilation/membership. I’m thankful for the people I get to serve Christ and the Church with!
What experience, education, and/or work background do you bring with you to Grace?
God graciously allowed me to attend the Master’s seminary and complete an M.Div. last year. God also saw fit to allow me to serve as a memorial service coordinator at a church for a couple of years, which God used to help shape me into the person I am today.
What are you most passionate about when it comes to ministry?
I am most passionate about teaching people truths in the Bible, word by word, and helping them apply it to their lives.
Tell us about your family.
I am married to my incredible wife, Abbi. I met her in college and pursued her for several years before she finally gave in! We are expecting our first child in February, 2018. We can’t wait to meet our little friend!
Briefly, describe how you came to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
I grew up in a Christian home and believed myself to be a Christian. I truly thought that my actions, whether good or bad, mattered to God, so I would lose assurance of my salvation regularly. This would lead to asking Jesus into my heart countless times. Into my college years, I began to truly grasp that Christianity wasn’t about what I could do for God, but about what God did for me in Christ. I came to a breaking point where I realized that I could only be saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. The good news of Jesus Christ transformed me, and has continued to ever since. My life has involved a constant process of repenting of self-righteousness and growing to rely on the grace of God.
