Current Series: The Book of 1 Timothy

In an age when it is popular to “reinvent” the church, there is a need for saints to contend for what God has declared to be His purposes, practices, and priorities for the Bride of Christ. We are obligated to remain true to the faith which has been once for all handed down to the saints. The church must never succumb to an identity crisis, but hold fast to what God has declared. In 1 Timothy, Paul mentors Timothy (the pastor of the church at Ephesus) on how to conduct ministry within the church. From correcting false teachers, priority of prayer, roles of men & women, qualifications for leadership, conduct of leaders, care for widows, discipline of elders, intolerance of deviation from the truth, proper role of money, to the anticipation of the return of Jesus, the church is to concern itself with integrity in its devotion to Jesus Christ. This is a ministry manual that must be embraced today in all of its detail. This is an exegetical study, moving through the book verse by verse to enlighten us in how to “do church.” Enjoy this study with us, learn, and conform your expectations of what the church is to be and do!

Current Series: The Book of Daniel

Daniel is one of the Old Testament books where the heart of God is placed on brilliant display. Israel was being disciplined by God for their unfaithfulness to Him through idolatry. He dispersed them - Israel first to Assyria, and then Judah to Babylon. Daniel - having gone to Babylon is used by the Lord to provide a summary of what Israel should expect throughout the rest of world history. Despite their discipline, God has not abandoned Israel. Throughout the book, God provides testimony of His faithfulness to those who will be faithful through supernatural episodes of mercy and grace. He also provides a glimpse of His faithfulness to Israel through their suffering during the times of the Gentiles. Ultimately, the end of the age is described in great detail - dovetailing wonderfully with Matthew 24-25 and the book of Revelation. With graphic detail, God provides a glimpse of the Tribulation Period, activity of the Antichrist, and the hostility of the Gentiles. This is an exegetical study that engages in the normal, literal, grammatical, historical hermeneutic that opens wide the details of what God will do leading up to the Millennium when Christ Jesus will finally reign and fulfill His Covenant promises. Enjoy this encouraging study as we look at the hope God provides us in a hostile world!
